Picnic FAQ'S

Q:  Will NY Picnics cater for parties smaller than 75 guests?
A:  Yes.  Any package can be booked for 50-74 people, for 3 hours.

Q:  Do the prices include tax and gratuity?
A:  No, applicable 8 5/8 % NY State sales tax will be added, as well as 18% gratuity.  Any additional gratuity is at your discretion.

Q:  What if it rains on the day of my party?
A:  NY Picnics will do the job in any weather, if a rain date is not specified beforehand and you want to cancel, you must call by 4:00 p.m. the day before your party.  You may reschedule or cancel at this time.  There is no loss of deposit if you reschedule.

Q:  Does NY Picnics provide or reserve the place for my party?
A:    If you are looking for an indoor event, we now have an event space available in Garden City with a maximum capacity of 250 guests.  Ask one of our catering specialists.  NY Picnics is also an off-premises outdoor caterer that comes to your corporate site, home, beach, or park of your choosing.  It is up to you to reserve the site if necessary.  We will gladly help you with contacts in your area if we can.

Q:  Is set up part of the 4-hour serving time?
A:  No, our staff arrives approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours before to set up, prep and start grilling so that you and your guests can start the buffet at your requested time.  Then it's unlimited food and fun for 4 hours.

Q:  What does full staffing mean?
A:  NY Picnics provides each party with at least 2 staff members; typically, one grill master and one assistant.  They work together to set up, prepare and grill at your party.  Wait staff and bartenders are also available for additional fees.

Q:  Can NY Picnics provide table / tent rental?
A:  Yes.  We can quote you pricing for these rentals or refer you directly to people that we deal with in your local area.

Q:  Does NY Picnics provide any type of entertainment or DJ's?
A:  Yes, we work with a few select companies that can provide clowns, carnival games, DJ's, bouncers, pony rides, cotton candy, popcorn and ice cream carts and food trucks. 

Q:  Does NY Picnics have references?
A:  Yes, when requested, we will provide personal home party references or corporate references.

Q:  How do we book a party?
A:  We will gladly pencil a date in for you while you consider your options.  When you choose NY Picnics as your caterer, a $300 deposit is required to secure your date.  The balance is due the day of the event.  NY Picnics accepts all major credit cards, cash and bank checks.  You may also stop in our store and speak to a specialist directly.

Q:  Will NY Picnics deliver a cooked BBQ Menu and Set Up?
A:  We understand that some state parks do not allow grills on the premises. For that reason, we will gladly cook the entire menu at our store location and deliver your menu hot; and ready to be served for your convenience.
